CABSAT 2011 EVENT

There are some significant changes in store at the CABSAT Broadcast conference in 2011. Based on feedback from delegates, the 2011 conference programme has been completely revamped and is now being jointly presented by a partnership representing the ABU, the IABM and MECIA.
MECIA's Executve Director Kevan Jones will chair the conference committee and is working with the partner Associations to ensure they deliver a world-class event that adds real value to the CABSAT experience.
The conference will comprise four half-day sessions, each focussing on a particular aspect of the broadcast industry. These sessions include specialised content on all aspects of content creation, management and delivery, as well as a bonus track that'll look specifically at the "Best of IBC 2010" - a selection of some of the most popular papers presented during the IBC Broadcast conference that took place in Amsterdam during September 2010.
We're now issuing a call for papers and inviting submissions from organizations, companies or individuals who are interested in presenting a paper. Presentations should focus on the successful application of broadcast technology. While manufacturers and dealers are welcome to submit papers, presentations should not be structured to sell or promote a particular brand or product.
Presentations can vary in length from 30-60 minutes based on relevance and content. Priority will be given to papers which address the use of broadcast technology throughout Africa and the Middle East.
All submissions need to be received by 20 November 2010 and will need to focus on the use of broadcast technology in content creation, management or distribution. At this stage we're maintaining a wide perspective on the market place so submissions in the creation track could explore acquisition technologies, lighting, production workflows or anything else that demonstrates the original and innovative use of technology in content creation. We are taking an equally broad view of papers on the management track and welcome submissions that look at workflow, asset management, archiving - as well as the business and commercial models that are designed to reflect the unique requirements of the Middle East market.
Finally, on our delivery track we'll be looking to deliver information on the new range of delivery options that are impacting the market, including IPTV, video for mobile, streaming media, multi-platform delivery - and any other technologies that are impacting the market in our region.
All submissions will be evaluated by a conference committee comprising representatives from the three supporting associations, as well as leading analysists and industry professionals active in the local market. A preliminary programme will be selected by 30 November and final papers will need to be submitted by 7 January 2011.
